TORHILD’S ROOM
In Torhild’s workshop, you meet Torhild Trydal surrounded by colours, textiles and ideas. She paints angels, embroiders, sews and knits, there are few creative crafts she has not worked with. For Torhild, it is precisely the variety and the freedom to create that matter most.
For 20 years, Torhild ran a shop in Kristiansand, where she sold Isager yarn. At the age of 60, she moved to Tversted and quickly found her place at Tversted School. Here, she prefers to work with textiles and materials that are worn and well‑used – materials that carry “energy”.
At Torhild’s Room, you can visit her cosy workshop and discover decorative paper cones sewn using Japanese techniques, high‑quality shopping bags, framed prints and delicate angels made from newspaper. It is hard not to feel inspired to create something yourself when you step into Torhild’s welcoming universe.

TORHILD”S KNITWEAR DESIGNS
Torhild is also a knitwear designer and has, over the years, created a wide range of sweaters in Isager yarn. Her designs are characterised by a personal expression, a strong sense of colour and a playful approach to shape and structure. The sweaters often emerge in close dialogue with the materials and the creative process, reflecting Torhild’s love of handmade craftsmanship and unique pieces.
