MOREMINDS
PAPERMAKING & PRINTMAKING

Lene Maan Bornak and Søren Bornak work under the name MoreMinds, reflecting their wish to invite workshop participants, craftspeople and artists into an open creative space. Here, people learn from one another and develop new projects together, and it is often in this shared environment that new friendships emerge.
Their work aims to be unconventional, rewarding and inspiring, as they believe this is the path to the best results.

If it’s fun, it will be good!

THE PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP
MoreMinds is about creating together and using old materials in new ways. Text is set by hand, and letterpress printing is carried out using traditional techniques, producing items such as invitations and business cards. Recycled materials such as plastic, plants and wood are often incorporated to achieve specific textures, forming the basis for posters, notepads and other printed works.

THE PAPERMAKING WORKSHOP
In the papermaking studio, handmade paper is produced for the printmaking workshop, as well as for smaller custom commissions. The paper may be made from traditional cotton fibres or plant fibres from Asia. In the hallway outside the papermaking studio, two Hollander beaters are used to prepare the pulp. Newly formed sheets are pressed in the papermaking studio and, after drying, pressed once more in the printmaking studio – ready for printing.

THE WORKSHOP
The workshop is equipped with three platen presses, three proof presses and two Heidelberg windmill presses. In addition, MoreMinds has an extensive collection of typefaces in both lead and wood, stored in drawers and cabinets.
